This is the front of our house. It is South facing.
Excuse the metal poles, put there to support roses prior to our time. The roses along front were lovely but not sure if they will flower anymore (last 2 years not, but we have tried again). A little sentimental. Ok, so this is a rough native garden, The bottlebrush was there at start, otherwise all put in after shopping at SKINC. The bay window is our bedroom - we were keen to screen a bit for privacy. There is a mandarin tree and a feijoa tree - both have never borne fruit. |
View from ground level. Hyacinths in bloom. We just weeded and mulched (half).
Looking worse for wear. The native grasses not so attractive, Feijoa also not bearing fruit since it was planted 6 years ago (we also all love feijoas!)
Bottlebrush is next to neighbours fence and the window in view is my small study. In two mins about chopping down Bottlebrush. It is the only large established tree in garden but it is the habitat for Possum family. Next to it (hard to see) is a camellia, also looking very old and tired.
